About Us

Who we are, where we come from, and where we're headed as a church family

Who we are

Here's the deal, Epiphany cares about one thing more than anything else, Jesus Christ. Epiphany is a family of individuals that have found hope in Jesus, and simply want as many people as possible to experience that exact same freedom.

Where we come from

Epiphany was started October 2019 by the leading of the Lord. Epiphany Cathedral NY is the mission dream of our pastor, Bishop Wayne Daniels, Jr. After a 1 year sabbatical, Bishop felt the tug of God leading him back into full time pastoral ministry. Bishop previously pastored The City Church, a church plant in central Missouri for almost 7 years. After relocating to NY and recovering from some health issues, the urge to serve grew. So, he and his wife Lashaundra with their 4 children obeyed the voice of God and Epiphany Cathedral NY was born.

Where we're headed

What's the bottom line? More than ever, Epiphany is committed to fostering a family built around hope. Hope for the future. Hope for better. Hope for progress. Hope in Jesus. And as we move forward as a church family, inclusion and belonging remain at the center of who we are as followers of Christ.

What this means for you

What does this mean for you? Most importantly, you're always welcome at Epiphany. We're saving a seat for you. Wherever you're at in your faith journey, you'll always be accepted as part of the Epiphany family.

More About Us
NY Cathedral Church of the Epiphany is the cathedral parish of The Holy American Orthodox Christian Communion.

We are a multicultural community that is part of the ancient Christian church and the church of the future.

We celebrate a combined contemporary & liturgical service that focuses on lifting humanity to the heights of heaven.
Christian Orthodoxy is evangelical, but not Protestant. It is orthodox, but not Jewish. It is catholic, but not Roman. It isn’t non-denominational, it’s pre-denominational. It has believed, taught, preserved, defended, and died for the Faith of the Apostles since the Day of Pentecost 2,000 years ago.
